Marvel Entertainment is arguably one of the most recognized brand names in the world. Yet, step back ten years ago, many people had never heard of Marvel. In 1996, Marvel had to file for bankruptcy protection to stop the company going under. As a result, X-Men and Fantastic Four were sold off to 20th Century Fox and Spider-Man was sold off to Sony Pictures. Although Bryan Singer’s X-Men and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man relaunches brought in millions of dollars, Marvel only saw a very small amount of that money.

San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) is an event catered to the fans. This is because no movie or TV show would be possible without the fans. It is the fans who truly determine the success of any show or film. Behind every view or audience number is a person. Look at MARVEL—the franchise struck the landing with Avengers: Endgame as it ended the cycle of films. Without fans all around the world purchasing their tickets to see Avengers: Endgame, it wouldn’t have become the highest grossing movie of all time, crossing $2.7902 billion at the global box office. Or, look at HBO with the network setting records for the TV world with their hit show Game of Thrones. Without fans worldwide tuning their televisions to the HBO channel to watching the series finale, “The Bells,” from start to finish, it wouldn’t have snagged 19.3 million sets of eyeballs.

San Diego Comic Con Survival Guide: Part I

I have attended San Diego Comic Con since 2015. Hence, I have picked up some wisdom about how to survive the five-day madness. For any newbie, Comic-Con can appear intimidating. After all, what exactly does it take to survive the largest show in North America? So, I’ve compiled a list of tips that will ensure you have the best experience possible at the convention. Should ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Get A Do-Over?

As of May 18th, more than one million people have signed a petition titled “Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers” on Change.org. The petition calls upon viewers to work together to get HBO to remove writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss as they are “woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on…” and remake the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.
